Welcome from the
Thank you for your interest in West College Scotland and for taking the time to look at our recruitment website. But I'd like to take the opportunity to tell you more about the new college and the plans we have for creating a dynamic, exciting but also a challenging place of work. West College Scotland will be formed on the 1st of August as a result of a merger of Clydebank College, Reid Kerr College and the Inverclyde campus of James Watt College, to form a new college employing 1,200 staff and serving over 40,000 students across an extended geographic footprint, with our 3 main campus sites located in the towns of Paisley, Clydebank and Greenock. With a turnover of £50 million and a strategy aligned to Scottish Government education and economic priorities, West College Scotland will be more than just a change in name. A significant employer and educator in the area, the college will build on the success and strengths of the three existing colleges to support economic and sustainable growth and with a focus on:
Our vision is of a vibrant, enterprising college that supports the future of the West Region, meets the needs of students, employers and our communities through an innovative and comprehensive mix of education and training, and offers clear pathways and progression routes for our students.
There will be many challenges ahead in transforming three colleges into one, but also many opportunities and that is where - hopefully - you come in. We're looking for exceptional individuals to join the existing talent that exists within the three colleges. As we move forward to a time of change and transformation, we will be relying on our staff to help the college realise its ambitions, whilst at the same time, ensuring we continue to provide an excellent service to our students, communities and partners.
If you think you have the skills and experience outlined in the Role Profiles - but more than that - the ambition, drive, passion and dedication to succeed in an exhilarating environment, then please do read through the Candidate Pack attached. If having read this, you'd like to apply, we'd love to hear from you. Full details of how to apply are contained in the Candidate Pack. Or if you prefer to have an informal, confidential discussion about the posts, please contact our consultant who is assisting the college with the recruitment process: Elaine Dunphy of Evergreen, on 01835 861177.
